James joined E&ES in 2022 as Director of Communications, Development, and Advocacy serving the customer focused mission of connecting career seekers with employers to support the workforce and economic development programs and initiatives that make E&ES a valued contributor to the Chicagoland economy. His work focuses on strengthening E&ES' communications and engagement channels, developing successful Job Fairs and Hiring Events to support workforce development and area businesses, and developing strategic business funding opportunities.

James has a career of experience in higher education (holding a PhD and teaching history and nonprofit management at several Chicago area universities) and has successful experience serving in the nonprofit sector in communications and leading major fund-raising teams. A life-long Chicago area resident, James now lives in Oak Park and enjoys support the Village's commerce and culture.
