Program Operations Specialist

Summary/Objective

The Program Operations Specialist is responsible for acting as an extension of the Program Operations Supervisor for assigned Golden Diner locations to ensure that programmatic requirements and outcomes are achieved.

Essential Functions

Responsible for supporting all assigned site operations and standing in as a team player to influence full execution of all established policies and procedures and regulations associated with food handling and distribution as required.

  • Provide administrative oversight for all assigned staff which includes scheduling, time and attendance, policy adherence and productivity
  • Deliver guidance on hospitality trainee’s development and coach to goal performance and the related actions as outlined
  • Coordinate with Site Supervisor or Program Manager to address any staff, compliance or productivity opportunities in a timely manner
  • Identify and drive quality improvement to enhanced customer service for Chicago Housing Authority residents
  • Responsible for ensuring that the assigned sites are in compliance with contract requirements with onsite cleanliness, safety and licensing
  • Partner with DFSS Supervisor to address food and supply needs to support quality of services
  • Execute checklists and guidelines and drive weekly activities to confirm sites are open and ready to operate as mandated
  • Collect weekly donations and purchase money order as needed
  • Monitor and maintain Golden Diner bulletin boards for upcoming events that would impact service
  • Rotate to assigned sites as needed to ensure appropriate oversight and coverage
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Skills and Experience

  • Experience with managing others in hospitality or restaurant programs
  • Knowledgeable of food handling and sanitation practices
  • Experience working with diverse and senior populations
  • Solid track record displaying excellent customer service
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and reliable automobile
  • Work well independently and as a team member
  • Proficient computer and organizational skills
  • Communication skills that lend themselves to building effective partnerships with Chicago Housing Authority and related service providers
  • Proven experience directly related to the position

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a field role with a need to stand and move around for a minimum of four hours at a time and the ability to lift 25 pounds regularly. Position requires extensive amount of mobility.

Hours of Work

Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, scheduled 4 hours daily (part-time)

Reporting Relationships

Reports to the Program Operations Supervisor and works in collaboration with E&ES staff.  Will also maintain positive relationships with Chicago Housing Authority staff and partner agencies.

Education

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. One year of related experience
